Sargent County Silver Lake Park Assistant Opening – Seasonal Position

Are you looking to earn some extra Cash for the summer? Do you like to work outdoors and be in a fun atmosphere? Sargent County is looking for excited, ambitious, and talented people to become a part of the Sargent County Team and Community.

Sargent County is looking to hire a Seasonal Assistant Park Manager to provide a service to the Silver Lake Park, beginning mid-May through mid-September. The position is a 40 hours per week with some weekend and holiday work. Wage depending on experience.

The Assistant Park Manager will assist with maintaining the ground and areas along the highway right-of-way’s, and facilities throughout the County Park system. You will also assist with providing direction and information to visitors and campers on rules and regulations of the park system, while maintaining a safe environment for everyone. The Assistant Park Manager will report to the Park Manager.

Position requires the following:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Requires a high school education or GED equivalent.
  • Requires one year of experience in grounds, maintenance, mechanics, and general trade skills.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen test.
  • Greet and interact with visitors/campers, enforce park rules and regulations to ensure a safe and proper conduct of visitors and campers.
  • Collect/record camping fees, deliver receipt and permit to each campsite.
  • Able to operate lawn mower, weed trimmers, chainsaws, tractor, gardening and landscaping equipment, motor vehicle.
  • Perform weed control by spraying and pulling weeds.
  • Inspecting, cleaning, and sanitizing all restrooms and visitor facilities.
  • Assist with various maintenance of the shelters and buildings in the park.
  • Able to resolve citizen complaints and inquiries.
  • Assist with placing/removing boat docks, piers, and buoys.
  • Utilize basic office equipment.
  • Tasks involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects of moderate weight (12-20 pounds), to heavy physical work up to 100 pounds.
  • Exposure of outdoor elements of heat, odors, chemicals, noises, dust, machinery.
